CH2M HILL wins Project of the Year for the Pelton Round Butte Selective Water Withdrawal Project for Portland General Electric

“This project may revolutionize fish passage and water quality in high head dams; produces positive ecological, social and economic impacts, both upstream and downstream.”

This computer rendering, above, illustrates the finished selective water withdrawal facility as it looks above and below water.
  • The floating top structure has 5 feet of freeboard, and is in 270 feet of water
  • The flow conduit connects the top structure to the bottom structure with a maximum hydraulic capacity of 14,000 cubic feet per second.
  • The bottom structure is anchored to the lake bottom joined to the existing powerhouse intake.
