Understanding Financial Management
This session provides a practical, plain-language introduction to financial acumen and how everyday operational decisions impact a firm’s financial performance. Participants will learn the fundamentals of cash versus accrual accounting, how to interpret income statements and balance sheets, and why these concepts matter—especially during periods of growth and change. The goal is to make financial information accessible beyond finance roles so leaders and managers can make more informed decisions.
The program also focuses on the key metrics that drive profitability, cash flow, and firm value, including utilization, net labor multiplier, overhead, backlog, and collections. Participants will see how these measures compare to industry benchmarks and how they influence sustainable growth. The session aims to connect financial performance to long-term value creation while emphasizing the importance of balancing results with a productive, engaged workforce.
