(This is part 4 of the 2022-23 Leadership Development Series; must be registered for the series to attend this session.)

There is a lot going on in Salem during the 2023 legislative session. Learn how ACEC Oregon’s lobbyist Marshall Coba and Legislative Committee Chair Karen Tatman track all that’s happening in the Capitol for ACEC members.
Coba and Tatman will discuss current legislation and why it’s so important to get involved with the process.

Marshall Coba is a 30+ year government relations professional with a track record of successful legislative representation on a variety of issues. His strategic leadership has resulted in the passage and defeat of significant legislation.While advocating for private companies, business associations or non-profit organizations, he maintains the highest ethical and professional standards. He currently represents clients in business, professional associations, health care, engineering, insurance, education, cannabis and distilled spirits. He is a graduate of Whitman College. 

Karen Tatman, PE, ACEC Oregon Legislative Committee Chair, National Director and
Past President (2017-18), Consor
Karen Tatman is a principal engineer with 35 years of diverse project experience ranging from small rural roads to major interstates and highways. She is actively involved in ACEC Oregon where she served as president of the board of directors from 2016-2017–only the second woman in the organization’s 60-year history to have served in this role. She is a highly respected professional exuding leadership acumen and transportation engineering expertise. She has extensive experience in public outreach efforts and is an essential individual in ACEC's legislative efforts. She holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
