COMMITTEES
ACEC membership gives your firm the opportunity to get involved with committees. Serving on a committee is a great way to network on a regular basis with other A/E professionals and leaders of Oregon's and southwest Washington's engineering industry.
The work carried out by committees is the backbone of ACEC Oregon. It is both educational and interactive. Participation in committees directly affects the organization and helps advance the mission of the Council.
WHY SERVE?
Committee members have a chance to interact with other ACEC Oregon members which can lead to improved business practices in their firms. Participation on an ACEC Oregon committee is also a great way to gain leadership skills and to give back to the profession.
LIAISON & PARTNERING OPPORTUNITIES
ACEC Oregon can do what a single firm cannot—as a respected voice for the consulting engineering industry, it can bring people together to work for the betterment of all parties.
Many firms find immense value in the liaison committees which facilitate communications and problem-solving with agency personnel. These include:
- Oregon Department of Transportation
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
- SW Washington Public Agency Liaison
Meanwhile, the Legislative Committee works on issues that are important to all firms, regardless of discipline.
